DUBUQUE – First Community Trust, N.A. (FCT), a nationally-chartered trust company headquartered in Dubuque, announced the promotion of Jenna Walleser to the position of Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective April 1, 2025.

For the past three years, Walleser has worked alongside the current CIO, John Gonner, to select and manage investments and portfolios that maximize results for clients. As Gonner prepares for retirement after two decades of service, Walleser will step into this role and continue the next chapter of growth and leadership for FCT.

“Building and maintaining client trust is paramount in our business. Jenna has consistently demonstrated her commitment to our clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering tailored investment solutions,” said Adam Claypool, Chief Executive Officer of FCT. “We also celebrate the retirement of John Gonner and his unparalleled commitment to our clients over the years. Through the collaboration between John and Jenna, we are confident this transition will be seamless for our clients and look forward to seeing our investment team continue to strengthen these relationships.

Jenna Walleser, CPA, currently serves as the senior investment officer, delivering exceptional results that support clients’ long-term financial success. With expertise in portfolio management, market and economic analysis, and strategic investment planning, Walleser plays a key role in shaping investment strategies for FCT and its retail and institutional clients.

Upon retirement, Gonner will remain part of the FCT family and join the FCT Investment Advisory Committee. This is a new committee that will serve as a resource to Walleser as she leads the future of FCT portfolio management.

FCT services include investment management, retirement planning, as well as trust and estate administration. In addition, FCT manages investments institutionally for endowments, foundations, non-profit organizations and credit unions. For more information, please visit fctrust.com
