DUBUQUE, IOWA – First Community Trust, N.A. (FCT), a nationally-chartered trust company based in Dubuque, Iowa, announced that Jan Cliff is joining the team as the Senior Investment Officer to help lead investment portfolio strategies.
In this role, Cliff supports the Chief Investment Officer by managing and analyzing client investments, constructing and maintaining portfolios, conducting thorough market research, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and investment industries, Cliff brings to FCT a deep understanding of capital markets and a proven track record in managing diverse client investment portfolios.

Jan Cliff received a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee) and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin (La Crosse). Beyond his professional work, he is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Madison Senior Center Foundation. He is also an engaged member of the CFA Society Madison, where he has held several leadership roles, including President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Member-At-Large. Cliff also holds the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® designation.
In addition to expertise from team members like Cliff, FCT also has an Investment Advisory Committee that serves as a resource for FCT portfolio management. This committee includes past CIO John Gonner, CFA, and FCT Senior Vice President Sarah Reicks, CFA, building a committee with more than eight decades of portfolio management experience.
